Led by IAP member the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) in partnership with the Zimbabwe Academy of Sciences (ZAS), the African network of IAP members (NASAC) and IAMP, this project aims to build on former work to improving the scientific writing skills of young medical practitioners and researchers from southern African countries, one of several factors contributing to the under-representation of African science in global publications.

Led by NASAC, the Network of African Science Academies, as well as individual IAP Academies of Science from Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda, this project aims to better equip scientists in Africa to communicate the results of their results of their work to stakeholders, decision makers and the general public. The project will explore innovative ways to facilitate this, and examine which methods deliver optimal results in different countries and to different audiences.

The IAP General Assembly which met in Mexico City from 1-5 December has released five statements, signed by two-thirds majority of the IAP membership.
