UNISDR Science and Technology Conference on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030

27-29 January 2016, Geneva, Switzerland

The conference, which opens tomorrow, aims to bring together the full diversity of the science and technology community, policy makers, practitioners and researchers from all geographical regions, at local, national, regional and international levels to discuss how the science and technology community will best support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.

IAP Coordinator, Peter McGrath will be presenting a poster on IAP's contributions in the area of Disaster Risk Reduction implemented by its member academies and affiliated regional networks. The poster can be downloaded HERE.

P. McGrath will be joined in Geneva by Antonio Sgamellotti, Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (Italy), and two young scientists, nominated by the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and by the Global Young Academy (GYA), in addition to the focal point for IAP activities in DRR, Dr. R.B. Singh from India.
