The new bimonthly bulletin – TWAS Plus – provides important Academy news and opportunities in a bright, easy-to-use format for a diverse global audience that ranges from TWAS fellows to early career researchers.

TOP STORY: Argentine geoscientist and TWAS Fellow Victor Ramos has spent his illustrious career researching the complex history of South America’s ancient landscapes and probing the origins of the Andes, the world’s longest mountain range. Ramos' pioneering work has helped Andes communities prepare for hazards such as floods, earthquakes and landslides. Now, he is the winner of the 2017 TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize, the Academy's most prestigious award.

TWAS Prizes are awarded in nine fields to researchers who have worked in a developing country for at least a decade. Apply now! Deadline: 15 March.

The Academy is seeking nominations for the TWAS-Siwei Cheng Prize in Economic Sciences, granted to an economist in the developing world. Deadline: 15 March.
