Researchers – of any discipline and level of seniority – are called to support the movement towards open access by signing up and joining the More Open Access Pledge via this link. The Global Young Academy, which is coordinating the campaign, is aiming for at least 1,000 signatories, and therefore substantial activity towards open access. To date, more than 130 members of the 200-strong GYA have signed the pledge [see GYA News release: More open access pledge].

Despite the significant expansion of Open Science, many researchers, clinicians, policymakers and citizens still cannot access the latest evidence. To counter this, early- and mid-career researchers from around the world, including from Oxford, Cambridge, and MIT, have launched the More Open Access Pledge. Its goal is to push for the wide availability of research findings.

Pledging means committing to submission of at least 1 manuscript to an Open Access outlet (a quality Open Access journal or a pre-print server) by the end of the year.
