The new bimonthly bulletin – TWAS Plus – provides important Academy news and opportunities in a bright, easy-to-use format for a diverse global audience that ranges from TWAS fellows to early career researchers.

TOP STORY  War and conflict have driven thousands of scientists from their homelands in recent years, at great cost to their research and to their countries. The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) has taken a leadership role in a growing effort by the global scientific community to identify displaced and refugee scientists, to understand their challenges, and to provide support. A new special issue of the TWAS Newsletter looks at this scientific migration – the programme needs, policy solutions and the human stories.

Young scientists from developing countries can visit research centres in the South through career-building TWAS fellowships. Deadline: 1 October.

Institutions and research groups from Least Developed Countries can invite top scientists to strengthen research and establish new projects. Deadline: 1 October.

TWAS Fellows can be appointed as research professors in LDC institutions to assist in research and provide training. Deadline: 31 October.

Feel creative? OWSD's members can celebrate the organization's 25th anniversary explaining in a video what OWSD has meant to them. Deadline: 30 November.
