STAP Panel Member Search - deadline 31 January 2014

Outstanding independent scientists are invited to apply for vacancies that will become available in July 2014 within the GEF’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel. 2 qualified candidates are required in the areas of Biodiversity and Chemicals/Waste Management. STAP Panel Members are expected to be able to provide a minimum of 60 days per year to the work of STAP, and up to a maximum of 90 days - depending on work program circumstances.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 15 years experience in scientific research with demonstrated success in applying research results to real-world issues;
2. Ability to work cross-sectorally in areas of importance related to their field of expertise;
3. Capable of bridging scientific, technological, and policy issues;
4. Understanding of the assigned GEF focal area, its strategic objectives, and linkages with other GEF focal areas is an asset.
