YPL Dr. Paramdeep Singh Receives Prestigious IMA National Academic Excellence Award

Dr. Paramdeep Singh, YPL 2019, has been conferred with the "IMA National Young Academic Excellence Award" by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

Renowned radiologist and alumnus of the IAP Young Physician Leaders (YPL) programme, Dr. Paramdeep Singh, has been conferred with the "IMA National Young Academic Excellence Award" by the Indian Medical Association (IMA). The prestigious award was presented during the grand Teachers Day celebration held at the IMA New Delhi headquarters on 18 November 2023.

Dr. Singh, currently serving as an Additional Professor of Radiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, India, has exhibited exceptional dedication to academics, particularly in the domains of medical education and research. His outstanding contributions were recognized by the Hon. National President of IMA, highlighting his significant impact on the medical field. He is a member of the Indian National Young Academy of Science (INYAS) and the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), India.

IAP extends its congratulations to Dr. Singh for this well-deserved recognition. Singh, who participated in the 2019 edition of the YPL programme, exemplifies the calibre of leaders fostered by this IAP flagship initiative.

Singh's illustrious career includes roles as the Focal Point for the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and Ambassador to the Asian Council of Science Editors. He has served on various committees, including the Research Advisory Committee, Scientific Advisory Committee and Medico-legal committees, contributing to policy development and administration in healthcare.

His multifaceted expertise encompasses clinical service, teaching and research, with a focus on infectious diseases, food safety, and environmental sustainability. His commitment to global health is evident through his participation in WHO initiatives, including the World Stroke Organization's Clinical Exchange Programme.

In addition to his accolades, Singh's role as a member of the WHO Diagnostic Technical Advisory Group (DTAG) for Neglected Tropical Diseases underscores his dedication to addressing complex healthcare challenges on a global scale. Read more here.
